On May 25, the Global Hub for MedTech Innovation & Exchange was unveiled in Shanghai, with its first projects moving in at the same time.
On the day of the inauguration, Boston Scientific joined forces with Danaher and Siemens Healthineers to establish an open platform called the "A3 International Medical Technology Innovation Exchange Center." The name "A3" embodies three core attributes: Advanced technology, Application implementation, and AI-driven empowerment. The platform is focused on three lines - cardio-cerebrovascular disease, oncology, and neuromodulation - with the three partner companies each contributing products and technologies in imaging, diagnostics, AI, and minimally invasive intervention, in an effort to establish a disease-centered path for collaborative innovation.
Zhang Jun, President of Greater China, Boston Scientific, said that AI is reshaping diagnostics, precision medicine is rewriting treatment pathways, and global collaboration is an inevitable choice.
Wang Hao, President of Greater China at Siemens Healthineers and a member of its Global Leadership Committee, said, "What we are witnessing together today is not only the launch of an international medical technology innovation exchange platform, but also a leap in the collaborative paradigm of medical innovation."
In addition, the Boston Scientific Asia-Pacific Brain-Computer Interface Innovation Training Base was also unveiled, led by Huashan Hospital, Fudan University. Boston Scientific China and Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University have fully launched an "industry-academia-research-medicine" collaboration, and are also working with the Shanghai Institute for Physical Artificial Intelligence and Robotics to jointly incubate AI + interventional technologies.
It is no surprise that this hub has landed in Shanghai.
