First Members' Congress and First Council Meeting of 7th China Association for Medical Devices Industry Convened in Beijing
On March 18, 2026, the First Members' Congress and the First Council Meeting of the 7th China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI) were successfully convened in Beijing. The congress opened with the solemn strains of the national anthem. Gao Jiaming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE), attended and addressed the congress. The congress was presided over by Yang Xiaofang, Deputy Secretary General of CAMDI, and was attended by nearly 400 member representatives from across the country.
At the opening of the congress, Zhao Yixin, President of the 6th Council of CAMDI, delivered a welcoming address. Gao Jiaming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CFIE, read out the Notice on the Review Results of Candidates for the Leadership of the 7th Council of the China Association for Medical Devices Industry from the Society Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.
In strict adherence to the provisions of the Articles of Association, the congress reviewed and approved the work report and financial report of the 6th Council, and voted on proposals including the method for electing member representatives, the procedures for the leadership re-election, and the list of vote monitors and vote counters. Through a secret ballot, the new council, supervisory board members, and their officers were elected. Jiang Deyuan, former Head of the Department of Medical Device Registration of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), was elected President of the 7th Council of CAMDI, and Yang Xiaofang, Deputy Secretary General of CAMDI, was elected Secretary General of the 7th Council of CAMDI.
Amid warm applause, the newly elected President of the 7th Council of CAMDI, Jiang Deyuan, delivered a speech, expressing his gratitude for the dedication of the leadership of the 6th Council and the trust of the industry and all members, and offering his outlook on the future direction and priorities of CAMDI. He stated that he would lead the new leadership team to resolutely implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, strengthen Party leadership, uphold CAMDI's mission, unite the strength of its members, promote the standardized management and healthy development of CAMDI, deepen engagement in the medical device field, build a higher-quality platform for exchange and cooperation, and advance the work of CAMDI to new heights.
The congress was conducted in an orderly and solemn manner, successfully completing all agenda items and laying a solid organizational foundation for CAMDI's sustained and sound development.
The successful convening of this congress marks the completion of CAMDI's leadership re-election. The inauguration of the new leadership body will inject new vitality into CAMDI's development, guiding China's medical device industry onto a new journey of standardized, innovative, and sustainable development.
