The meeting featured a special lecture by leaders specially invited from the Department of Medical Device Registration of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), who gave authoritative interpretations of the Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Regulation of Drugs and Medical Devices to Promote the High-quality Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry issued by the General Office of the State Council and the Relevant Measures for Optimizing Full Lifecycle Regulation to Support the Innovative Development of High-End Medical Devices, which provided key guidance for attendees to accurately understand the latest policies and optimize enterprise development strategies.
The council then heard a comprehensive report from CAMDI's Secretariat on key work over the past five years.
The meeting deliberated and approved the important proposal on establishing a leadership transition working group and also approved two proposals on adjusting some branches and some council members. Following the council meeting, the leadership transition group convened and formally elected Jiang Deyuan, former Director-General of the Department of Medical Device Registration of NMPA and Senior Advisor to CAMDI, as the candidate for the 7th president of CAMDI.
The successful convening of this meeting marks the comprehensive launch of the election work for the new council of CAMDI. CAMDI will continue to uphold its service mission, closely unite all members, and make new and greater contributions to leading the medical device industry's high-quality development and serving the cause of people's health.
